You can call me Arrow or aroceu, whatever your heart desires. I write stories and code, I make graphics and designs, I talk about myself a lot, and I prefer lists in threes but break that preference quite often.

This fic was originally handwritten (in its entirety!), which I might post pictures/scans of one day? There's a lot of deleted bits because I didn't think they flowed well.

And... there's a whole deleted scene at the end because it was mostly to put those removed bits together but I just felt like it was wholly unnecessary. So I'm sticking it here instead, just for funsies \o/

I found the notebook that I used while (not prior to) writing Kid, You'll Move Mountains that mostly just has the emotional beats of the second half of the fic, as well as the last scene... though I don't need to transcribe that since. It's already in the fic.

However, I tend to find story notes in general interesting and maybe you do too. These notes were particularly for me to understand both Mark and Eduardo emotionally to form the basis of the last chapter's conflict/angst, to make it feel more like a happy ending that TSN would never have than a tentative type of happy ending you usually see in shorter romance stories that span the same amount of time.

Also I will probably do a DVD commentary for the fic at some point... not any time soon though.

Anyway, I wrote all this after writing the first chapter since at that point while writing I only had a vague idea of how I wanted the rest of the story to go.

Dear Yuletide author! Hello! I'm sorry this is a little later than I promised (if you've checked daily since assignments came out; if not, then pretend I've been ready all this time) but I hope it still gives you enough time to write something we both end up liking :)

My most general request is a happy ending; for Karin/Blue, I'd accept a bittersweet-more-sweet ending as well.

I have a lot of general likes and dislikes; feel free to nab any concepts from a list of my likes and disregard a larger portion of this letter, as I'm pretty easy to please. This letter will mostly focus on any specific requests for the specific pairing/fandom in question, if you'd rather go a more specific route, plus other little things I might appreciate on the side.

I can't really think of any hard DNWs for Yuletide this year; my only request would be no pwp, although porn with plot (or rather, plot with porn) is perfectly fine. If you want to make me especially thirsty, feel free to check out my kinks.

Your main fandom of the year? Is this even a question anymore? To quote my stories spreadsheet: "The Social Network" has the highest value for "FANDOM." (20)

Your favorite film you watched this year? Hey, so I actually barely watched any movies at all for the first 9 months of the year, then in October was like "wow I am really behind on my 365 film goal" and bingewatched about 150 movies in several weeks before my attention span weaned. My point is that I watched a lot of good movies in a short amount of time.

So, for movies that came out this year: (1) Get Out, (2) Thor Ragnarok, (3) Wonder Woman
Movies that didn't come out this year but that I first watched this year (not in any order): Triangle, Coherence, The Thing, Train to Busan, Scream

Hello Yuletide author! I'm excited for whatever you write me - I'm sure that no matter what, I'll enjoy whatever you make for me, since we matched. All my requests are specifically shippy, which I hope you don't mind.

So [personal profile] necessarian tagged me to do this on Tumblr, but I'm doing this here, naturally.

This is a post to share my writing space, i.e. my physical/digital toolbox and the more spacial and physical aspects of my writing. My biggest sin is that I'm inconsistent, so I'll run through a number of my slightly more common methods of writing.

I tried writing this fic about twice; [personal profile] bluedreaming had given me the prompt of Mark/Eduardo wherein Eduardo is a foreign exchange student, and there are a lot of ways I could've gone with it, hence the multiple attempts. It sounds like something that could be done in a longer fic, but I like how I managed to make it short-form, since it's cute and to the point that way.

Anyway, here are the extended attempts I'd tried on the same day. There's also a brief outline at the end of what I thought I could do, except then it would've been long-winded and something that I wasn't particularly excited about writing.

This is a list of fic that I wouldn't necessarily call my best (because what is objectivity), but more on the side of my favorites, except more coalesced and excluding original fiction, since I'm not posting that on the internet anymore. Put simply, it's the list of "if I wanted you to read my own fic, this is where I'd like you to begin" because, I mean, I have a lot of stories on my AO3 and it can be hard to navigate. And while all the fics I have up are there for one reason or another, sometimes my fics are simply better than others, you know?

It's important for me to note that I mostly write short-form fic, though it's not my specialty, just a commonality (and, if we're being honest, a comfort zone.) I am capable and have written long-form fic before, and this list is a decent mixture of both, I like to think.

♥ are absolute, absolute favorites. Purely subjective. Be interested in them only if you want to assess the sort of thing I would likely be the most proud of; but by no means would I call them the "best." Because - like I said - what is objectivity, anyway?

I had a couple of first tries for this. I like Cho/Luna, but I haven't thought about them much so it was difficult for me to get a handle at first. I'm pretty okay with the result, but I had two attempts prior.

(One of them was written longhand and isn't typed up yet; I'll edit this post with it when I do.)

This was what Solstice was originally supposed to be - an epic that spanned all of Asahi, Daichi, and Suga's high school years with switching POVs - but I neither had the stamina nor the motivation to write it in full, and instead, well, came up with Solstice.

This is what I had of the beginning - it's really terribly boring, sorry.

When I was writing this, there were at points moments I forgot what I intended for the emotional beats to be so I had to rewrite some of it. This was the most notable part - I hadn't realized I kind of wanted Asahi to have an anxiety attack after running into Daichi, so I'd originally written this genial and easygoing lunch scene. When I realized, I backtracked and fixed it, of course - it's in the fic now - but this is what the end of the shopping scene originally looked like.

Originally I had not written burn down my throat like a building to be a drabble collection thing, but as it turns out I knew what direction it was headed in when written that way, so alas.

Anyway, I did start it in a more typical prose manner. Since [personal profile] necessarian and I have been doing our prompt battles over at [community profile] twodongs, I'd originally written a part of this for our "past tense" prompt, not our drabble prompt. So this is what had come of it. It was also supposed to be a coffeeshop meetugly, but, well.

(It's pretty obvious that I recycled themes from this and reused them in the final product.)

(This was also originally written in the first person before I'd given up on that, hah.)

Literally almost a year ago - April 29, 2016 according to my Google Drive - I started to write a coda to That Nothing Can Tear. The reason I stopped and am no longer interested in it is because:

  • I wrote the fic with the intention of not having a sequel, and with having a cliffhanger, thusly
  • SORRY FOR THE SAD ENDING GUYS BUT I ACTUALLY DON'T CARE ABOUT RESOLVING IT BECAUSE THE SAD ENDING IS INTENTIONAL

You can Death of the Author me if you'd like of course (although I'm not dead, at the moment of writing this) but I did write this domestic/fluff pseudo sequel only a few months after writing the original fic. It contains some meta on the fic itself because I'm like that; and it's also in Mark's POV, which is even more interesting and enlightening.

I don't technically consider it to be part of my fic's "canon," but this is all fanfiction so who cares. So here it is.

Original last scene for a purveyor of tragedy, and all the things that follow. In its place I had written the three shorter (altogether longer) scenes at the end, with all of their POVs; but this was just Erica's. I didn't feel particularly like this fit or wrapped the fic up properly, even though it does display the domesticity I wanted to establish in the end.

I think it works better with the hesitance between Mark and Erica rather than the security of Mark and Eduardo in the end. Mark and Erica's relationship always had a tension and was on the line for this entire fic, so it felt far more fitting to end with at least growing the reestablishment of that rather than a sudden jump into security about their relationship and then overlooking it for Erica/Eduardo for true finality, when Erica/Eduardo was more of a plot device in this fic than anything.

This was the original scene for we are for each other then, part three, scene two (Eduardo's first POV scene in that section.) I didn't like it because I made Eduardo way too genial and easy-to-forgive, when both realistically and in my head I picture her much more frosty and not easily forgiving and distrustful of Mark. Because, you know, considering.

Anyway, so the current version definitely has that reluctance and antagonism, for contextual reasons within the movie and also spurring the, like, next 13000 words of that scene. But this is the friendlier version that I had first written before I decided I didn't like it. This, like all other scenes of the fic (with a few exceptions) were originally written on my phone, so there is no formatting.
