Your favorite film you watched this year? Hey, so I actually barely watched any movies at all for the first 9 months of the year, then in October was like "wow I am really behind on my 365 film goal" and bingewatched about 150 movies in several weeks before my attention span weaned. My point is that I watched a lot of good movies in a short amount of time.

Your favorite book read this year? I reread most of the ASOUE books in the beginning of the year and then my attention span petered off on book 12. Oops.

Your favorite tv show of the year? The Flash, which is all Mel's fault. I think Arrow is slightly more tolerable, but the Flash is more fun. Oh, and A Series of Unfortunate Events even though that was in January.

Your best new fandom discovery of the year? I have no idea. What does this question even mean anymore? Does it count that I've realized that fandom has consumed too much of my life for the past eight years so I'm trying to distance myself from it now?
Cathy and I have been trying to archive old TSN fic for fear of deletion (which has been happening this year, actually) and we found parts of a fic we've been looking for for ages.

Your biggest squee moment of the year? I don't remember what happened this year. Hm, I guess taking over tsn_kinkmeme and rebooting it for Dreamwidth. That's pretty exciting.

Your biggest fan anticipations for the coming year? There are so many movies I'm looking forward to next year I'm actually going to watch 365 movies in 2018. I swear.

To the hot air balloon’s credit, the baskets had actually not been very cramped at all, but instead circular and spacious like the size of her old playroom when she was four years old. But when they were surrounded by land, and land, and more land, in what seemed to be the middle of nowhere, neither of her brothers bothered correcting her and instead shared the sentiment of at least having balloons and a practical if not slightly anxious handyman for company.

Eduardo nods. “I see,” he says, and then drops the conversation, returning to, assumingly, working on all the Hidden Pictures that Mark could be doing himself. Mark doesn’t know why he’s disappointed by this.

He tries to return to his newspaper, but now that he’s aware of Eduardo, it’s distracting to realize how fast he works them out. He speeds through the five issues in the span of what certainly feels like five minutes, laying the ones that he’s finished onto the coffee table, tapping the end of the pencil against his chin if it takes him less than three fucking seconds to find something in the picture. Mark mostly hides his face with the newspaper like an old person, but he’s stunned. Even he can’t get through them that fast.

Eduardo chuckles without taking his head out of his hands. "Don't talk to me, Parker."

Oh, so they're on a last name basis now. Sean can roll with that. "We're the only ones conscious in this house," he says, because it's true--Dustin's passed out at the desktop by the back screen door, and at this time of the night (or morning), the rest of the interns have also scattered to their respective places--one of the mattresses in the few bedrooms, or just straight up on the kitchen table. Ian's passed out on the concrete by the pool before. It's probably a bad idea to keep so much beer at the fingertips of nineteen year olds.

Eduardo’s whole body is beautiful, objectively. There’s a mess of hair on his thighs and legs and that trail down from his bellybutton to his cock, which is so dark and leaking that it makes Mark’s mouth water. Mark wants to blow him, but he also just wants to tear Eduardo apart like this, just with his fingers, no touching or anything else. Just him inside Eduardo—just Eduardo’s desperate, twisting body, clenching around Mark’s fingers.

“Mark,” Eduardo pleads, because Mark isn’t moving his finger much, just stroking gentle circles inside Eduardo, seeing what he’ll ease out. Eduardo is grinding his hips down onto the bed, and they’re really lucky that Chris and Dustin are out now, with the noises that Eduardo keeps making.

"What do you have to say about the rumours about you and your boyfriend's split?" the reporter asks him. They'd just been talking about the other celebrities Liam was eager to see today (Kanye, Drake, Beyoncé) so the topic change kind of gives Liam whiplash.

Liam tries to answer as platonically as he can. "Well, I mean they're not untrue—"

"So you have broken up, then?" the reporter asks eagerly. "Liam Payne is on the gay market?"

Liam forces himself to laugh. "I didn't realise there was a gay market," he says. "Um, yes, Harry and I—it was—we kind of had to end it, you know." He remembers what he had rehearsed with Brenda. "It was really more of a summer romance than anything."

Aang waves what's left of his sandwich at her before stuffing it into his mouth. "Yes," he says, as Sokka looks at him enviously. "Sokka's right, it's not going to get me anywhere - "

"Ah, the words I love to hear the most," Sokka says. "Sokka's right."

Betty giggles, and that causes Veronica to shift to the side and giggle against Betty's jawline. "What if we do?" Betty says, and that's how Veronica knows that Betty's gone—either with the adrenaline of their touches, or maybe the spiked punch from the dance, but Veronica doesn't care. "Would you have sex with me here?" Betty asks.

She's looking into Veronica's eyes again. Veronica knows how serious this is, how much Betty wants to know. There aren't a lot of girls like Betty, who easily trust Veronica, who match the lightning to the roll of Veronica's thunder. Veronica shivers, because she knows how much she wants Betty—but more than that, Betty's gaze is just saying, please take me, have me, I trust you. Veronica wants to, wants to show Betty what they could be—on top of the world, or just happy.

When she moved to Riverdale, Veronica never anticipated this. A girl who could match her. A girl who could fit into the places where Veronica is open, make her whole.

"Ugh." Yotsuha twirls on the counter stool, and leans her head back so she's looking at Mitsuha upside-down. "Just have this cafe cater for her wedding. That's your job anyway, and you've both had the food here before."

"No way," Mitsuha says, grinning. "Cafe food for a wedding?"

"Yeah! It'll be perfect." Yotsuha spins back around, right-side up. "Cafe themed, dogs everywhere, dessert and cakes for a meal, everyone will love it."

"You would love it, you mean," Mitsuha says. "No, I think—the restaurant that has the food we're trying, I think they're going to go with it. This cafe wouldn't even compare."

"Ooh." Yotsuha perches her elbows back on the counter. "Is it fancy? Is it expensive? Is it French?"

"You'll see."

Overall Thoughts Thank god that necessarian and I did twodongs this year, tbh.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d predicted? About what I predicted. I signed up for 200,000 words for getyourwordsout and sort of anticipated that I would do more than such, which I did. Not so much that I doubled it, but enough over my goal.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January? Kimi No Na Wa, and all the Harry Potter, One Direction, and Avatar I wrote this year.

What’s your own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest? Boys With Sweet Teeth. I wrote it in a strange state of feeling clear-headed, mostly because I'd written it basically right after I got my own wisdom teeth taken out, and it was just a lot of fun and easy to write.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them? Yes, I wrote and published my first 50k+ fanfiction for a very long time.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year? No? Yes? No. I don't anticipate writing much next year (though I did sign up for GYWO again, just in case) since I'm back in school.

From my past year of writing, what was…

My best story of this year: I'm a little loathe to admit it, but most likely it's Us While They Stare Upon. I think sasunaru is otp also best accomplishes what I tried to do with it.

My most popular story of this year: The Courting of Draco Malfoy is now my most popular fic :P
wake up at twilight by kudos but also because Jack/Bitty fans are really active. Other than that, so don't break me tonight, though Spideypool fans are pretty active too.

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Your First Friend Is My; Mirthful

Most fun story to write: Boys With Sweet Teeth; better men do better things

Story with the single sexiest moment: A tie between The Anxiety of Separation and don't even need to buy a new dress

Most “Holy crap, that’s wrong, even for you” story: N/A

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Us While We Stare Upon made me realize how much the boys have changed in the past five years.

Hardest story to write: It was hardest for me to write/finish Solstice.

Biggest Surprise: Mirthful. I definitely didn't think I would write another part to the new fashion, but when I heard Louis and Eleanor were together again, I couldn't resist.

In conclusion: I wrote as much as I wanted to this year, and actually knocked out a bunch of goals (Solstice, the new fashion, GYWO, Advent Calendar, Us While They Stare Upon, the leaves are falling) so I'm pretty happy with my total output, even if the actual number of stories I wrote this year was less than "usual," I suppose. A decent wordcount, though.

{ 2017 will be the year I- } calm down, write 150k as per my getyourwordsout goal, hit 1000 entries on aroceu
