Your main fandom of the year?

I'd say One Direction? I was more emotionally invested in them in the beginning of the year but I've written the most 1D fic overall in 2013 so~

Your favorite film you watched this year?

If new movies (as in released in 2013) - ah, This is Us then, sob.

Your favorite book read this year?

I DIDN'T READ ANY BOOKS THIS YEAR (from cover to cover) but um if completed published(-in-paper-form) original story (the fact that I have to specify this is amazing) my favorite that I've read this year is Raymond Carver's short story "What We Talk About When We Talk About Love." Or Bharati Mukherjee's "The Management of Grief."

Your favorite tv show of the year?

New TV show that I've watched? Because if not, then Jimmy Neutron definitely haha... oops /o\

Otherwise, Psych! Actually, probably even Psych over Jimmy Neutron because Psych is still coming out with new episodes. I'd watched it spontaneously over the summer, I think because of potaoto but now I love it a lot sobs :(

Your best new fandom discovery of the year?

Idk?? Uhh ahhh I gained followers on Tumblr because of my stupid ass formal wear popular text post? Also I've made quite a bit of new friends in One Direction fandom and just on Twitter in general so that's been very satisfying. ALSO Pokemon fandom later this year!! But I think I've been working mostly on interacting with people in 1D fandom so.

Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?

Your biggest squee moment of the year?

I dunno; 2013 wasn't that great for me fandom-wise? Or anything fandom-wise EXCEPT MUSIC WAIT YES I'LL TALK ABOUT THAT

Overall Thoughts

This is the least I've written since 2008 sob but it was supposed to be a low pressure year so!! Personally I'm actually pretty impressed that I managed to break 100k words overall. Though I have like a bunch of 5k+ WIPs (and two of them are the IRL ones that will never see the light of day so), including zombie/AFW fic which is probably going to end up around 40k anyways, so!

But yeah, I'm actually not particularly disappointed since I didn't have many goals this year. I mean, I guess I should've worked on other WIPs instead of starting others, but... *shrug* what you gonna do

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?

Just about as I'd expected. I mean, since I didn't set many goals for myself and wanted to write just when I wanted to, I sort of expected myself to write very little. Sighs. 2013 wasn't a good year anyways. So maybe 2014 will be more prosperous.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?

I was pretty against Louis/Harry for a while (due to tinhats /o\ nothing personal, sobs) but then I wrote atof so!! I also probably didn't expect myself to write any IRL fic this year, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Also Go Figure porn, ahaha /o\

What's your own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?

Since I didn't write much this year, I guess it won't be too difficult to pick :o

I'm really fond of "Trick" and "A Word From Our Sponsors," I suppose, since Trick is something incredibly new that turned out better than I'd expected. And I just really adore the domesticity in AWFOS, to be honest. As long (and popular. and ideal) "Flirt" and "Skirting" are, they would be my favorites except I tend to favor more different and experimental stuff (neither of which Flirt/Skirting are) so!

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?

Ahhh, genderbend! And more family/gen. And also het! And just girls in general. I learn more about my own One Direction headcanons whenever I write 1D, and I've written quite a bit of 1D. 

Collabing isn't new but it's been a while since I've done it.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?

Definitely finish zombie fic, probably finish WIPs from 2012 sob. Maybe work on BT? I also really want to try to write one fic per month, if not per week. Just to motivate me and whatnot. And submit to more journals, as usual.

My goals from last year were:

 

Finish some WIPs (namely the two One Direction ones, nextgen_mas, and that prom fic)! WORK ON CHAPTERED FIC MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE. Don't sign up for anything! Write a minimum amount of kpop fic; branch out into other fandoms! (Namely 1D, South Park, Pokemon, PPG and XS. Annnndd possibly Spiderwick Chronicles heh) Write only when wanting to!

Ahhh I finished one 1D WIP I guess? Skirting? Zombie fic is chaptered. I signed up only for Secret Stantler; didn't write much kpop fic I think. Mostly branched out into 1D, haha oops.

My best story of this year:

Objectively, I'd say either Post Script or Trick. Actually, I've no idea what the fuck "best" means. But by personal best, yeah I'd say either one of those. I'm just really fond of Trick tbh

My most popular story of this year:

Either Giant or Flirt. Flirt because many of the kudos left by certain people mean a lot to me, but Giant definitely has 102 kudos so.

IDK MAN Flirt/Skirting really really made me love Zayn/Louis interactions because they are the Best. But I guess that's more chemistry than character. summer snow also made me very fond of the Kalos e4.

Biggest Surprise:

figure eight (me out) and one of my IRL stories because I've literally never written a super graphic femslash sex scene before this year oops

Most Unintentionally Telling Story:

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS QUESTION. I guess Friendly Favors and Light Instead?? Idk they're both pretty short and pwp-ish so they're more... telling... I guess?

In conclusion:

Ahhh I didn't write that much but again I guess I'm not entirely disappointed bc low pressure means super low pressure for me... even though I do tend to prefer myself when I'm writing. And I feel better about myself. sobs u__u

- again, write a fic once a month at the least if not once a week (although that might still be reaching but we'll see!) Idk I don't like having phases; I prefer consistency so
- give myself some sort of writing schedule? maybe?
