You can call me Arrow or aroceu, whatever your heart desires. I write stories and code, I make graphics and designs, I talk about myself a lot, and I prefer lists in threes but break that preference quite often.

I started this in December but I'm doing this now because it is 2016 and 2015 is done c: A gratuitous thank you to everyone who has supported me over the past year!! /o/ Also much thanks to [personal profile] aeglos and [personal profile] necessarian for tagging me, ahaha.

Your main fandom of the year?

HOO BOY. The year as a whole, most accurately Haikyuu - from January till now and I'm still writing (and still plan on writing!) fic for it. So by technicality, yeah. However, in terms of emotional investment, The Social Network kind of completely took me by storm since July until now, so... yeah. There's that.

Your favorite film you watched this year?

Ahahaha. Well, my favorite new film would probably be Mockingjay pt. 2. My favorite film I'd never seen before is probably the Truman Show? I watched a shitload of movies this year.... but, uhh, my favorite film that I actually watched, regardless if it was new or if I watched it before, is--well, you know what it is.

Your favorite book read this year?

I didn't read that many books this year! I did, however, reread all of "More Than Human" and "Red Potter" in a single week, so whatever, I'm still well-read P:

Your favorite tv show of the year?

Brooklyn 99! I can never get enough of it and I still keep up c:

Same with Gravity Falls actually! I'm glad it's ending - I'll be sad to see it go, but I kind of always figured it would end around this time. Oh, but also Love Live! Forgot about that. Give me the girls and the lesbians ~_~

Your best new fandom discovery of the year?

HAHAHHA The Social Network, five years late oTL On the bright side, I've made quite a few friends from trying to browse around this mostly dead fandom! And also looking at old stuff and seeing how much I missed when the fandom was still active - active fandoms usually scare the crap out of me, though, so there's not much regret here.

Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?

So much ridiculous stuff happened in Haikyuu fandom tbh! I still adore it, but the weirdly gross apologetics for Terushima; and also when people were like "I should be allowed to ship het stuff instead of kiyoyachi!! you're being _phobic for wanting lesbians!!" were so ridiculous I'm just... stares at the sky.

Your biggest squee moment of the year? The Social Network LOL also Love Live!!! :>

Your biggest fan anticipations for the coming year?

Dawn of Justice honestly... also more Haikyuu!! And potentially whatever I might get into next year :B

Overall Thoughts

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d predicted?

MORE!! I know I didn't write a whole lot in 2014, though it was admittedly a healthy amount - but I wrote a lot more this year than I have for like, four years, which really says a lot about me this year ^^;;; I'm really happy about it though? I trudged through a lot of my writer's blocks by writing anyway, so I think that helped!

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?

Uhh haha I don't think I thought I would've written so much TSN fic as I have now! Also, Harry/Taylor probably ahaha

What’s your own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?

One of the [redacted]s! It's literally my longest story of all time and I'm really proud of how intricate I (personally) find it c: I put a lot of thought and time and effort into it so it's just really satisfying to see it on this list and stuff.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?

Yeah!! I, um, I wrote for Yuletide as a first experience, which unfortunately was also when I was going through my writer's block... I procrastinated on a lot of stuff, actually. I suppose they weren't risks, though.

I guess my biggest risk was trying to go through my October advcal. I didn't actually finish it! (Though I really want to.) But I got like 25/31 through, which is honestly more impressive than the last time I tried to do an every day month long goal.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?

Fanfic: Finish editing [redacted] and post it! Rewrite [other redacted] c:

Profic: Start applying to get published in journals again!!

My goals from last year were:

Continue writing regularly - not in terms of how much I complete, but how much I literally write. I also kind of want to start a multifandom poly exchange?!

I want to try out different fandoms or remain faithful to fandoms I already have. One, the other, or both.

HA... well... I sort of wrote regularly... kinda... I wrote every month, at least...!

The exchange thing was more like Holly Poly, which I meant to signup for but forgot to TT;;

I did try out different fandoms! (lol) But I also remained faithful to the fandoms that I already had - well, Haikyuu, really c:

My writing goals for 2015, more in-depth and number focused, are:
- Either keep up with Haikyuu!!, like I did for One Direction in 2012-2013, or spread myself out in a multifandom way, more evenly. I've never been able to do this, so it's something I want to try. I know I'm built to be obsessive, but if I really focus on something - that is, obsessing over not being obsessive - I'm quite capable of this.
- Write 200,000 words by the end of the year, at minimum. I haven't finished anything yet, but this will happen.
- Write at least one story per month.
- While I'm at Iowa, stop ignoring my 'WRITE U DICKBUTT' alarms.
- Write at least 3 original stories.
- Finish at least one chaptered story - doesn't matter if it's a WIP or something I choose to write this year.
- Write the Vexing & Delicate sequel.

- LOL THE FIRST ONE, I didn't really... yeah... I suppose I did stay loyal to Haikyuu, kinda, but then I got obsessed with something new which was kind of the complete opposite of what that bulletpoint was about. WELP. Can't be helped, I guess.
- Ahaha, I more than doubled my word count goal :)
- Ooh technically I did do the third? I guess I never make goals to post (and I shouldn't) so yeah :3
- I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!
- ...... ahaha... next year (this year) I guess /o\

From my past year of writing, what was…

My best story of this year:

OBJECTIVE BEST?? Hmm. I think Self-Destruction was really good, honestly. I also really liked wake up slowly! SD took me like two hours to write and was really emotional for me; wake up slowly took me like a month (33% one day, 33% one day 1 week later, 33% one day 2 weeks later) but I'm really especially proud of them both.

My most popular story of this year:

once more, with feeling! I think it's because it's kagehina and practice kissing, ahaha, but I also really like how I wrote it ^^

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:

My Heart, Your Heart! It has 0 kudos on AO3 :c And I bawled while writing it... whoopsie!

Most fun story to write:

Blind Spots c:

Story with the single sexiest moment:

Wide Berth!

I could potentially say grinning steep or if you want it, but WB was the fic I felt the most ~sexy~ writing (whatever that means), so c:

Most “Holy crap, that’s wrong, even for you” story:

BEE mine LOL

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:

Intriguing Possibilities? It really got me invested into Mark/Erica, whoopsie. I really like their dynamic and how they interact with each other ^^

Hardest story to write:

tbh, last fic of the year, and also as i lose the feeling in my fingertips. I got writer's block at the end of the year WELP

Biggest Surprise:

[redacted]... the longest one...! I thought it would be 30k at the very MOST but it's like [redacted]x longer than that /o\

In conclusion:

TSN FUCKED ME UP but in a good way!! I wrote so much because of TSN and I really hope to write more, it's a really strong muse and I have a lot of ideas and I want to write them all despite how dead the fandom is - I have #fabcrew7 though and they are the most important people in TSN to me ♥

Haikyuu is a solid muse for me to and while maybe I feel less inspired than I used to (because of TSN), I've made so many friends in the past year through it and it's ongoing and consistent so I genuinely hope my love for it will also be, too! Fic is fun to write and I'm glad a lot of the time I prioritized my own willingness to write over my obsessiveness and need for validation and feedback, just as a personal thing (I don't blame anyone who does prioritize this over personal desires.) I just find that it's healthier for me to know that I'm doing what I want for myself ^^

{ 2016 will be the year I- }
- sleep early and write in the mornings!!
- travel (I know this isn't a writing thing technically, but it's good for research)
- be physically active regularly in order to motivate my mental energy ;w;
- KEEP MY GOOD PALS FROM HAIKYUU FANDOM, especially Isy, Kait, Danielle, Kelly, Carole, and a whole bunch more I'm forgetting, I'm so sorry, I'm writing this drunk
- finish my hecking TSN to-do list! as of now, at least, ahaha...
